Hours: Approximately 50–60 hours per week, Monday to Saturday

K and K Greenhouses is a wholesale flower grower producing potted flowers. We are seeking 17 full-time farm workers for our greenhouse operation in Branchton, Ontario.

Working Conditions

Applicants should understand that greenhouse farm work is physically demanding, repetitive and fast-paced. The greenhouse environment can be hot, humid, dusty and dirty, and employees are required to work in these conditions for extended periods.

The work requires:

Standing and walking for extended periods
Frequent bending, crouching and kneeling
Repetitive movements and tasks throughout the workday
Working at a fast and consistent pace
Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
Ability to distinguish between colours
Repeated lifting, carrying and moving of plants and materials
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work approximately 50–60 hours per week, Monday through Saturday

This is an on-site position only. There is no option to work remotely.

The work location is 1852 Concession Road 6 West, Branchton, Ontario N0B 1L0. The greenhouse is located in a rural area with no public bus transportation. Applicants must have their own reliable daily transportation to and from work.

Job Duties

General greenhouse farm work includes:

Planting and transplanting flowers and seedlings
Filling pots and containers with growing media
Moving, spacing and organizing potted plants
Watering and general crop care
Pinching, pruning, trimming and cleaning plants
Weeding
Identifying and reporting signs of insects, pests and crop problems
Preparing plants for shipping
Loading and unloading plants, carts, supplies and materials
Moving greenhouse carts and other materials throughout the facility
Sweeping, raking and cleaning greenhouse production areas
Removing plants, soil, debris and waste material
Cleaning and disinfecting work areas and equipment
Assisting with crop changeovers
Performing other general greenhouse farm duties as required
Qualifications

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required
Experience: No previous experience required; training will be provided

Applicants must be capable of performing repetitive, physically demanding agricultural work for extended periods and be comfortable working long hours in greenhouse conditions.
