Compensation: $22.50 per hour, minimum 40 hours per week, paid bi weekly
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Butcher for Halal Meat Section to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in meat preparation, customer service, and team supervision. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to communicate with customers in their preferred language.
Key Responsibilities
• Communicate with customers in their preferred language, including Urdu, Punjabi, and others as needed
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers in selecting meat products
• Clean, prepare, process, and cut various types of meat
• Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters into standard wholesale and retail cuts
• Trim meat, remove bones, and prepare standard cuts according to specifications
• Cut poultry into parts and grind meat products
• Prepare and fulfill special customer orders
• Weigh, price, wrap, and package meat products for sale
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety
• Supervise and support other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and operational procedures
Qualifications & Skills
• Previous experience as a butcher or meat cutter
• Strong knowledge of meat processing, trimming, deboning, and cutting techniques
• Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages (Urdu, Punjabi, English preferred)
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate meat cutting tools and equipment safely
• Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
Working Conditions
• Standing for extended periods
• Working in cold environments such as refrigerated areas
• Handling sharp tools and equipment with required safety precautions
