You will be helping to provide care for a young woman with Cerebral Palsy who is wheelchair bound. She is non-verbal but very interactive. Assistance is required for her in every aspect of the activities of daily living. You will learn to assist to feed, bathe and provide personal care, as well as learn how to provide physiotherapy and help with motor development skills. All of this will occur in her home.

We are looking for a very responsible and caring individual. While no certification or formal training is required, the applicant must possess many attributes to fulfill this position. This is a physical job so fitness and strength are necessary. Patience, kindness and commitment are required character traits, and a sense of humour is always helpful. The successful candidate must be a female 18 years of age or older.

The current shift vacancies are mostly for weekends. The shifts are from 8 am to 12 pm, 12 pm to 4 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm. Some weekday shifts may become available for coverage of illness, vacation or planned absence of current caregivers. The residence is in Old South Wortley Village area.

This is a very challenging but rewarding job which pays above average compensation! We are hoping for a student who wants an ongoing job to help with the costs of attending school.
