Personal Support Worker / Personal Attendant 
 
An active physically disabled individual is seeking applications for part-time Physical Therapy Aides to provide support in maintaining and improving her physical fitness.   
 
This opportunity will appeal to a motivated, cooperative individual who is committed to supporting her active lifestyle.  You will assist in preparing for and facilitating an exercise/stretching program, accompanying to medical appointments and therapy/wellness activities, showering and assistance with dressing as needed, and light housekeeping as required.   
 
Education/experience in the fields of Physical Therapy (PT), Physiotherapy Aide (PTA), Kinesiology or Personal Support Worker is an asset, but not a requirement.  Specific training will be provided.  Experience supporting persons with physical demands is an asset.   
 
Available shifts are 7 evenings per week –  3 hours per shift and maybe more depending on activities and appointments. 
Currently assistance is needed for longer shifts on:
Tuesdays
Wednesday afternoons
Thursdays
More specifics will be discussed during the interview process.

Increased shifts may also be necessary if ill (fever, flu, stomach virus). Due to vulnerabilities, infection control must be strictly followed. Due to COVID-19 masking is required while on the job. The masks will be provided by the employer. 
 
Maintaining a scent-free home is imperative due to environmental sensitives such as, but not limited to, anything smelling of tobacco smoke, scented products such as perfume/cologne, creams, lotions, animal dander, etc.   Previous employees who had pets have taken steps (i.e.changed clothes) to not trigger an allergic reaction.
 
A willingness to learn and a will-do attitude are required for this position.  
 
Employment is conditional upon receipt of a successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check and up-to- date COVID-19 vaccination record or supporting documentation for not being vaccinated.  
 
Compensation is in accordance with government program guidelines: 
Current hourly rate is $25.00/hour  
Overnight Care - $50.00/night 
Daily illness Care - $100.00/day 
Payroll is a bi-weekly cycle.
