For sale is a vintage candy store metal cash register with wooden drawer base. Mechanical cash registers became widespread in retail establishments from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century, revolutionizing commerce by providing secure transaction recording and cash storage. These machines were essential business tools before electronic registers, with manufacturers like National Cash Register (NCR) dominating the market.

Such registers represent an important era in retail history and mechanical engineering, showcasing the ingenuity of pre-digital commerce solutions. They are highly valued by collectors of vintage business equipment, antique store owners, and enthusiasts of industrial design for their mechanical complexity, historical significance, and nostalgic appeal. These pieces often serve as decorative conversation starters in restaurants, boutiques, and home offices, celebrating the craftsmanship of early 20th-century North American manufacturing.

This unit is presented in fair overall condition. It appears to have been painted white at some point. Keys are functional, with the monetary value flag appearing behind the glass frame when the corresponding key is pressed. ‘No Sale’ flag is missing. Bell rings and cash drawer opens automatically. Key is included to lock the unit accordingly. A great vintage find!

Offered for sale at $345 (or best offer).
