Description
Beautiful, authentic Victorian / American antique "Princess Style" dresser typically dating from the late 1890s to early 1910s, featuring a gorgeous tall harp-supported mirror and a classic serpentine (curved) front dresser. Historically referred to as a "princess dresser" or "princess vanity", distinguished by its low base height and an unusually tall, elegant mirror
Constructed from premium quarter-sawn Tiger Oak or Ash (Ash is the same looking as Oak, but is lighter in weight than oak) both known for its distinct, high-contrast wood grain patterning that beautifully shows on the drawer fronts.
Stunning Silhouette: Features a deeply curved serpentine front edge and beautifully carved foliate scrollwork on the mirror’s crown.
Original Hardware: Complete with its gorgeous, ornate antique brass bail handles and decorative backplates.
Storage: Three smoothly operating drawers (two top split drawers over one full-width bottom drawer) offering deep storage.
Mirror: The tall, vertical beveled glass mirror is in exceptionally clean condition. Beveled glass is very expensive in todays market and requires special (and expensive) equipment to replace, but adds to the value of this dresser with the mirror..

Condition: This has just recently been professionally restored and not used since. Excellent antique condition. The wood grain is vibrant, the drawers slide smoothly, and the mirror is clear with minimal vintage character.
Dimensions: The dresser without the mirror, measures 23” tall, 45 wide and 21 “ deep….the mirror from the dresser to the top of the wood frame around the mirror, measures 51”tall so together, the dresser with the mirror measures 74” (basically 6 feet and a bit)

In Summary: This circa 1910 golden oak dresser features two small upper drawers above two larger drawers and it has the original brass pulls. Strong quarter sawn oak / oak grain is visible across the drawer fronts and case.. It provides practical storage and works well in a bedroom or guest space as a functional antique dresser or in a larger hallway to hold keys and to check the mirror for how you look when coming or going. Perfect for Victorian, traditional, cottage, or eclectic interiors.

Pickup details: Cash, cheque or email bank transfer. Must pick up in Freelton, south of Guelph and North of Waterdown off of Hwy #6. Ed and Linda (Precious Antiques and Restorations) 905-659-5766
