Hello my name is Steven. I offer academic support in Social Studies and English Language Arts for students in both junior high.

I have about three years of experience. My approach to tutoring has always focused on gauging understanding, and emphasizing the process above all. That means addressing the most pressing and foundational weaknesses, helping students build good habits and learning approaches, and tailoring my approach to each individual student. When these points are addressed, results always follow. Ultimately, the goal is always to help students build the skills needed to thrive on their own.

I've worked with a variety of students with different backgrounds and ethnic groups. I have a background in psychology owing to my bachelor's degree, and have even worked with students struggling with ADHD. Fundamentally, I focus on building a positive rapport with students to ensure that they are comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns, and I do so in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

Education: Bachelor's of Science in Psychology
