OUR PET PROJECT IS A MOVEMENT TO PUT NON-PEDIGREED/NON-REGISTERED/NON-SHOW ANIMALS BACK ON THE MAP.
The pedigreed/registered/show sector denigrates anyone who intentionally breeds animals outside their own market (yes, it is a business), has attempted to devalue the majority of animals on the planet, turned animals into products like brand-name coffee makers or the latest, greatest cell phone, and thrown the door wide open for ‘less ethical breeders’ to take advantage.
Having a pedigree does not necessarily mean an animal is well bred and healthy.
Being registered does not necessarily mean an animal is well-bred and healthy.
Titles in a pedigree do not necessarily mean an animal is well-bred and healthy.
Nowadays, you choose a breed you like, go to a website, peruse their photo gallery, choose a kitten, and place your order on an e-commerce page. These people make great money, and the non-refundable deposit has become normalized, a business in itself.
People buy an iPhone because it is an iPhone.
People buy a specific breed of animal because it is a specific breed of animal.
Status.
We also breed Maine Coon cats and are seeing this happen more and more.
Great breeders and great rescues exist, but we need a middle-of-the-road option and must close the door on for-profit-only businesses that exploit animals.
But BUYERS keep them in business.
NO BUYERS – NO PROFIT – NO BUSINESS!
Our Pet Project focuses on natural, healthy animals that are less likely to trigger human allergies. We’ve had several of our cats tested by HealthGene, Research and Diagnostics in Concord, Ontario, and have bred our original hypoallergenic cats with our hypoallergenic Maine Coon cats.
The mother of this litter of kittens tested 85% similar to the Maine Coon breed (by Basepaws), and the sire’s father and grandfather are Maine Coons from our own breeding program (Riverdale Maine Coons).
If you're interested in one of our kittens, the first step is to schedule a one-on-one phone call. Please send a text to 403-200-1950 with your name and a brief note about yourself, and we can set up a time to talk.
We ask for a $150.00 deposit to place a kitten on hold.
The deposit is 100% refundable if we cannot provide the kitten for any reason (for example, if a health issue arises), but if you just change your mind, we keep it. So take your time and be sure before sending money off!
PLEASE NOTE: We do not vaccinate, administer chemical dewormers, or spay/neuter at such a young age. This is the new family's responsibility, and it can be EXPENSIVE.

Are your living arrangements secure (i.e., do you own your home or live where pets are allowed)?
Is getting this kitten an important part of your life for the kitten's entire life? Cats can live /- 15 YEARS!
We feed all our animals according to the Prey Model Diet (PMR). Can you afford to provide this kitten with a healthy, natural diet?
Buying a kitten or puppy is a lifelong commitment to that animal – are you willing to make that commitment?
