POSITION OVERVIEW

SereneAid Home Care Services is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and fluent Cantonese-speaking Companion Caregiver to provide personalized support to a male senior living independently in his private residence in Mississauga.

The client is living with Parkinson's disease and experiences anxiety when left alone for extended periods. We are looking for a warm, patient, and attentive individual who can provide meaningful companionship, emotional reassurance, and assistance with light household activities.

The client remains independent with walking and driving and does not require mobility assistance. The primary focus of this position is companionship, emotional support, meal preparation, and maintaining a comfortable home environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Companionship and Emotional Support
- Provide friendly conversation, companionship, and reassurance.
- Help reduce feelings of anxiety, loneliness, and isolation.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the client.
- Encourage independence while providing a calm and supportive presence.

Light Housekeeping
- Perform general household tidying and light cleaning.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
- Assist with routine household activities as required.

Meal Preparation
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals according to the client's preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper food hygiene in the kitchen.
- Assist with basic meal planning and preparation as needed.

Medication Reminders
- Provide occasional verbal reminders for scheduled medications.
- Report concerns regarding medication routines to the designated care coordinator.
- Medication administration is not required.

General Support and Observation
- Assist with appropriate non-medical daily activities.
- Observe the client's general comfort and well-being.
- Report any significant changes or concerns to the care coordination team.
- Respect the client's dignity, independence, and privacy.

REQUIREMENTS

- Fluent Cantonese-speaking ability is mandatory.
- Previous companion care, senior care, or private home-care experience preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals with Parkinson's disease is an asset.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and personable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable providing one-on-one companionship and emotional reassurance.
- Capable of performing light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Reliable transportation to the Mississauga location.
- Available for three 4-hour shifts per week, preferably beginning at 12:00 PM.
- Able to begin on or around October 21, 2026.

- Frequency: 3 visits per week
- Shift Duration: 4 hours per visit
