(Images 1 – 5) A beautiful, matching 5-piece partial service lot of antique Star Paragon fine bone china plates in the rare, early "Gainsborough" pattern.
Manufactured in Longton, England, this art deco set features an elegant, hand-painted, slightly raised (embossed – image 4) pastoral scene depicting a courting couple in 18th-century attire in an estate garden. The style is strongly influenced by the romanticized landscape paintings of the famous English artist Thomas Gainsborough.
• Includes: Two Salad / Dessert 7.5" plates; and three Bread & Butter 6.5" plates.
• Era: 1920s (Authenticated by the early six-pointed Star Paragon backstamp). The design pattern was officially registered in 1924.
• Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, crazing or surface scratches. The center graphics and blue-trimmed scalloped rims remain bright and beautifully intact. Minimal wear consistent with their 100 year old age.

Perfect for vintage tea parties, replacing missing pieces, or displaying in a china cabinet.

(Images 6 – 10 Vintage Handcrafted Art Glass Handkerchief Bowls - Set of 3) This gorgeous matching set of three art glass bowls feature an elegant, mid-century inspired folded "handkerchief" (fazzoletto) design. Crafted from thick, high-quality art glass with a delicate turquoise tint, each piece highlights a four-cornered folded shape. The standout feature are the beautifully molded, raised ripple texture that swirls around the sides. All three are in mint condition.

Although these three are contemporary (1980s) vintage, the "handkerchief" folded shape itself is an iconic mid-century modern design originally popularized by Murano glassmakers in Italy during the 1940s and 1950s.
