Duct Cleaning Technician Trainee
Description
Are you looking for a hands-on career with real training, meaningful work, and strong long-term earning potential? Above All Duct Cleaning Services Ltd. is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Duct Cleaning Technician Trainees.
We’re an Edmonton-based company specializing in the cleaning and restoration of HVAC and ventilation systems for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and health care facilities across Alberta. Our technicians are individually NADCA certified, and we proudly serve major projects including hospitals, laboratories, universities and other high-standard facilities. We use powerful vacuum trucks, portable equipment, and robotics, and we back every job with before-and-after photos, video inspections, and certificates of completion.
About the Role
As a trainee, you’ll learn the trade on the job from experienced, NADCA-certified technicians. The full training path typically takes approximately 2 years before you become a fully independent duct cleaning technician. You’ll gain the skills to inspect, clean, and maintain air duct systems while helping improve indoor air quality for homes, businesses, and critical facilities across the Edmonton region and beyond.
Key Responsibilities (as you progress through training):
• Inspect and clean residential and commercial air ducts, vents, registers, dryer vents, coils, and HVAC components
• Set up and operate specialized equipment (truck-mounted vacuums, rotary brushes, portable systems, and robotics)
• Work on a variety of sites, including healthcare facilities that require high standards of cleanliness and safety
• Protect customer properties and follow strict safety protocols
• Document work with photos/video and complete required paperwork
• Represent Above All with professionalism and excellent customer service
What We’re Looking For
• Reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clean driving record (required)
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in attics/crawlspaces/confined spaces, and stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working at heights and in various environments
• Strong attention to detail and a customer-first attitude
• Willingness to obtain required safety certifications (CSTS, WHMIS, confined space, fall protection, etc. — training provided)
Bonus assets: Mechanical aptitude, previous cleaning or trades experience, or customer service background
Compensation & Benefits
• Starting base pay: $22–$25 per hour, with progressive wage increases throughout the training period
• Once fully trained and independent, you become eligible for additional pay incentives with the potential to earn over $100,000 per year
• Group benefits and signing bonus available after successful completion of the probationary period
• Opportunity to advance into a full technician role with a reputable, BBB-accredited company
Why Join Above All?
• Paid on-the-job training over approximately 2 years — we will train the right candidate to become a fully independent, NADCA-certified technician
• Opportunity to work on high-profile projects (hospitals, universities, industrial sites)
• Strong safety culture (COR certified, members of ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, Alberta Construction Safety Association)
• Professional team of experienced technicians
• Company vehicle and tools provided as you progress
• Steady full-time work serving the Edmonton Region, across Alberta, and out of province.
