Senior Companion – Friendly Calls & Visits for Your Loved One
A kindred spirit for your loved one — senior companionship in Calgary.
Do you have a parent or grandparent in Calgary who could use more company? I'm Jill, and I'm now welcoming my first clients to Avonlea Companions — warm, reliable companionship for seniors, and peace of mind for the people who love them.
What I offer:
• Scheduled check-in calls — $150/month for weekly calls, $300/month for twice-weekly. A friendly voice, a wellness check, help with FaceTime, and a weekly update to you.
• In-home companion visits — $40/hour (2-hour minimum). Conversation, company, puzzles, card games, board games. Walks as able. Light meal prep, laundry, grocery runs and errands. Coffee or tea together.
• Appointment companion — $40/hour (2-hour minimum). I drive your parent to medical appointments, sit with them, and send you a written summary.
• Story Keeper Sessions — $175. I help capture your loved one's life stories and memories as a beautiful keepsake for your family.
• All Ready To-Go Binder Sessions — $225. Gentle, one-on-one help organizing final wishes and important documents. I provide the binder.
What I don't do:
I'm a companion, not a caregiver — no personal or medical care (no bathing, toileting, dressing, lifting, or medications). For nursing-home residents, facility staff handle personal care while I provide the company.
About me:
I'm a mom of three, a dog lover, and a certified death doula with years of experience in support work. My gift is listening — really listening — and holding space for people's stories. Character references available on request.
