Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable Fabrication Helper to support welders and fitters in a busy shop environment. The successful candidate will assist with material preparation, machine setup, shop organization, painting, and general fabrication duties while following all health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assist welders and fitters with daily shop tasks
Prepare materials for fabrication, welding, and painting
Set up and operate basic fabrication machines
Use hand tools, grinders, and basic welding tools
Paint and prepare fabricated materials as required
Load and unload trucks and move materials safely
Collect scrap and maintain a clean, organized work area
Follow workplace health and safety procedures
Perform other general shop duties as assigned
Requirements
Good communication and listening skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Good mobility and physical ability to perform manual work
Basic knowledge of hand tools and grinders
Basic familiarity with welding tools is an asset
Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work under pressure
