Hours of Work:
This position is based on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evening, weekend, and overtime hours may be required as operational needs dictate.
Compensation and Benefits:
The Town of Penhold provides a comprehensive pension and benefits package upon successful completion of the probationary period. Compensation for this position is $31.38 per hour.
Required qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Alberta Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake (Q) Endorsement preferred.
• Minimum Class 5 Driver's License required.
• Standard First Aid/CPR certification
• Experience operating heavy equipment in a municipal, agricultural, or construction setting.
• Municipal Operations experience is considered an asset.
• Physical fitness/ good health is mandatory as this position can be physically demanding.
• Clean Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record check.

Job Duties:
• Operation of equipment and tools: as well as cleaning, repair, and maintenance.
• Labour involved in construction and maintenance of streets, roads, and sidewalks.
• General maintenance duties include but are not limited to rough carpentry, welding, and painting.
• Snow removal, street sanding and cleaning.
• Sign maintenance.
• Garbage removal as necessary.
• Grass cutting, weed trimming, tree pruning, and general parks clean up, general landscaping including flowerbeds.
• Flooding, cleaning, and maintenance of outdoor skating rinks.
• Maintenance and preparation of ball diamonds.
• Maintenance and preparation of Splash Park.
• Maintenance of Town Facilities
• Assist with utilities tasks
• Assist with water meter installation, repair and reading.
• Maintenance as required for the RV Park and Sani dump station.
• Assist in assuring proper drainage and controlling flood situations.
• Adhere to all safety procedures as required.
• Other duties as required.


The Town of Penhold provides a competitive pension and benefits package following the successful completion of the probationary period. Compensation for this position is $31.38 per hour.
