Step into the sacred transition between life, death, and the afterlife with this exquisite, hand-painted Egyptian papyrus art. Sourced directly from Cairo, Egypt, this piece is a striking reminder of mortal legacy and divine transition.

This piece is a meticulously detailed reproduction of a famous wall relief from the Tomb of Pharaoh Seti I (KV17).

Every pharaoh was considered the human embodiment of Horus in life; here, the divine guide presents the mortal king to Osiris, ruler of the underworld. The ancient hieroglyphs elegantly tell the story: above Osiris, they read "Great god, foremost in the West" (the realm of the dead), and above the pharaoh, they proclaim "Seti, true of voice before Osiris."

Pharaoh Seti I died in 1279 BCE. By this golden era of the New Kingdom, pharaohs had completely abandoned pyramids. To outsmart tomb looters, they adopted a strategy of absolute secrecy, carving their final resting places deep into the subterranean limestone cliffs of the desert. Seti I's tomb is widely celebrated as the deepest, longest, and most artistic masterpiece in the entire Valley of the Kings—plunging nearly 450 feet into the earth through a labyrinth of descending corridors, staircases, and hidden pillared halls.
