Recruiting Position: Aquatics Program Supervisor
Description
Aquaturbo Swim is seeking an experienced and responsible Aquatics Program Supervisor to join our team in Richmond, British Columbia.
The successful candidate will help develop, coordinate and supervise our swimming and aquatic programs while providing guidance and support to swimming instructors and coaches.
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in swimming instruction, coaching or aquatic programming, combined with excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, plan and coordinate swimming and aquatic programs for children, youth and adult participants;
Prepare swimming lesson plans and training programs based on participant skill levels and program objectives;
Coordinate schedules for swimming lessons, training sessions and aquatic activities;
Supervise and coordinate swimming instructors and coaches;
Provide training, technical guidance and operational support to instructors and coaching staff;
Monitor program quality, participant progress and overall program effectiveness;
Recommend improvements to aquatic programs, training methods and service delivery;
Coordinate participant registration, class placement, enrolment and scheduling;
Communicate with participants, parents and guardians regarding program schedules, progress and expectations;
Maintain attendance records, participant progress records and other program documentation;
Assist in coordinating swimming competitions, assessments, training camps and special aquatic events;
Maintain and enforce aquatic safety standards and risk-management procedures;
Assist management with the onboarding, training and performance monitoring of swimming instructors and coaches;
Assist with instructor scheduling and staffing requirements based on program enrolment;
Support the continued development and improvement of the Company's swimming and aquatic programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sports Administration, Recreation Management or a related discipline preferred;
Previous professional experience in swimming instruction, coaching, aquatic programming or a related sports environment;
Previous experience in program coordination, instructor supervision, team leadership or aquatic program management is preferred;
Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly;
Experience developing swimming lesson plans or training programs;
Strong understanding of aquatic and water safety practices;
Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills;
Ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents, instructors and management in English or French and Chinese is preffered;
Ability to independently coordinate schedules and day-to-day aquatic program activities;
Swimming coaching, swimming instructor, lifesaving, water safety or related sports certifications are considered an asset.
Employment Details
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
Wage: $27.00 per hour
Location: 120-8280 Lansdowne Road, Richmond, British Columbia
The work schedule may include weekdays, evenings and weekends depending on program schedules, training sessions, competitions and special aquatic events.
