FRONT-LINE DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER
Full-Time • Grande Prairie, Alberta

A private family in Grande Prairie, Alberta is seeking a dependable, compassionate and motivated Full-Time Disability Support Worker to join our support team.
This is a hands-on position providing individualized support to adults with disabilities in a private family home and throughout the community.

POSITION DETAILS
Position: Full-Time Disability Support Worker
Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta
Hours: Approximately 30–45 hours per week
Schedule: Varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
Sleepovers: Required when necessary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Household management
• Medication support/delivery in accordance with established procedures
• Physical therapy/exercise support
• Personal and daily living support
• Community access and appointments
• Documentation and communication
• Maintaining a safe, accessible home environment

REQUIRED
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Ability to safely perform essential physical duties using proper body mechanics and training
• Ability to communicate and document professionally
• Ability to work independently
• Availability for varied shifts, weekends, holidays and occasional sleepovers
• Willingness to complete required training

PREFERRED
• Disability-support experience
• Wheelchair/transfer experience
• Medication support experience
• Physical therapy support experience
• Positive Behavior Support experience
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, if required for duties

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active, hands-on position. Duties may include transfers, repositioning, wheelchair mobility, physical therapy support, personal care, bending, reaching, standing, walking, pushing/pulling and operating mobility equipment. Safe handling procedures and appropriate equipment/training will be used. Applicants will not be expected to perform unsafe manual handling.

RATE OF PAY
The rate is $22 per hour for day shifts and $16.35 per hour for sleepover shifts.
