Experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic – Van & Tools Provided
Description
TORO CAPITAL GROUP OF COMPANIES is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Mobile Fleet Technician to provide in-house maintenance and repair services for our commercial truck and trailer fleet.
This is not an entry-level or helper position. We need someone who can work independently, diagnose problems accurately and complete repairs properly.
Major engine, transmission and other heavy repair jobs will be sent to outside shops. Your primary responsibility will be keeping our fleet operating safely and minimizing unnecessary downtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine and aftertreatment-related problems
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine fleet repairs
• Complete mobile repairs at company yards and fleet locations
• Repair and service trucks, trailers, brakes, air systems, electrical components and related equipment
• Identify required parts and determine whether repairs can be completed internally or should be sent to a shop
• Maintain clear service records and communicate repair findings
• Respond to fleet maintenance needs as required
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum two years of verifiable diesel truck or fleet maintenance experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability is mandatory
• Able to work independently without constant supervision
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company service van
• Diesel mechanic license is not required
• Class AZ license is considered an asset
• Must be dependable, organized and able to complete work properly
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends when required
WHAT WE PROVIDE
• Fully equipped company service van
• Tools and equipment required for the position
• Steady work with no shortage of available hours
• Work available up to seven days per week, depending on fleet requirements and mutually agreed availability
• Major repair jobs handled by outside shops
COMPENSATION
Hourly pay will be negotiated after your experience and diagnostic ability have been verified. Compensation will be based on your experience, skill level and license or certification level.
