If you are trying to make a parent's house safer, this is the kind of work I do all day.

Grab bars in the bathroom and beside the bed. A ramp or a step rail at the front door. Taking out the step into the shower. Raising a toilet. Widening a doorway so a walker fits.

Also the small stuff that piles up once someone cannot get up a ladder anymore. Smoke alarms, light bulbs, a sticking door, a tap that drips.

I will tell you what it costs before I start, and I do not mind being asked to just look at it first.

Evenings and weekends are fine, and I can come 24 hours if something is urgent.
