Northern Performance Maintenance Ltd. (NPM) is a Yukon base company that currently provides Mechanical & Electrical Power Generation Services in the Northwest Territories.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Red Seal Heavy-Duty Mechanic preferably with Power Generation experience.
This position requires flexibility and the ability to travel away from home for a 2-3 week rotation. Working minimum 10-hour days. The position is a term position. Will be required to travel.
If you enjoy fast-paced work and a team that takes pride in their work, this could be the perfect fit for you. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diesel and natural gas power generation and the ability to troubleshoot and adapt to changing priorities and workload.
Responsibilities:
Provide mechanical services on natural gas and diesel generators as well as additional equipment including pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lubricating oil systems, fuel oil systems, cooling systems, and other mechanical equipment.
Will be responsible for the maintenance as well as conduct minor and major overhauls associated with the operation of various-sized engines and makes and models of natural gas and diesel generators.
Provide mechanical services required for maintenance and repairs of a variety of sized diesel and gas engines and generators of various sizes.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician with an Interprovincial Red Seal.
A full valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and verbal form, as well as work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
