Job Summary:
We are a local family run automotive repair shop seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience on gas and diesel. We work on most makes excluding imports. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team with opportunity of growth, utilizing a wide range of mechanical skills and tools.

Duties
*Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
*Conduct repairs and maintenance on engines, suspension, steering, brakes, and other vehicle components
*Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs effectively
*Use basic computer skills to follow manufacturer specifications and schematics to ensure accurate repairs
*Perform heavy lifting as needed for parts and equipment handling
*Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan
*Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle
*Ensure all work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations
*Keeping up on the cleanliness of your work space
*Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required for repairs or upgrades
*Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance needs clearly to clients

Skills:
*Proven mechanic experience - Journeyman Certificate
*Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems and components
*Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and schematics reading
*Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
*Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques
*Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and diagnostic procedures
*Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
*Basic computer skills
*Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
*Familiarity with safety protocols related to automotive repair operations

Education:
Automotive Mechanic or Automotive Service Technician Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
