Experience:
3 years to less than 5 years of relevant professional hairstyling experience

Certification:
Hairstylist Trade Certification

Job Duties:
• Advise clients on beauty care treatments
• Analyze hair and scalp condition
• Book appointments
• Cut and trim hair according to clients' instructions and preferences
• Provide custom hair and scalp treatments
• Shampoo customers' hair
• Provide advanced hair treatments including waving, straightening and tinting
• Provide scalp conditioning treatments
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair
• Recommend hairstyles compatible with clients' physical features and preferences
• Supervise and provide guidance to apprentices and students in training
• Provide direction and support to 1 to 2 junior team members, as required
• Maintain and order salon supplies

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Hairstylist Trade Certification
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional hairstyling experience
• Strong knowledge of advanced hairstyling and colouring techniques
• Experience with bleach, dyes, tints, highlights and other colour services
• Strong client-service skills
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Ability to guide and support junior staff or apprentices
• Strong attention to detail and professional judgement
• Dependability, flexibility and reliability
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced salon environment
