CWB-Certified Welder Seeking Part-Time Work (Up to 24 hrs/week)
I am an international student and CWB-Certified Welder seeking a part-time position (maximum 24 hours per week) in the Ottawa area. My background includes a BSc in Applied Physics, providing a strong foundation in precise measurement and blueprint reading. I am shop-ready and adaptable to both heavy structural and custom fabrication environments.
Core Qualifications:
• Multi-Process Expertise: Trained and tested in FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW to CWB standards.
• Certified in FCAW (Flat), SMAW (Flat), and GTAW (Flat).
• Shop-Ready Skillset: Proficient in joint preparation, beveling, fitting, tacking, drilling, and destructive bend-testing.
• Safety: Certified Forklift Operator (WORK SAFE Training Inc.).
Recent Experience:
• Majestic Metal Work: Fabricated custom ornamental fencing and cylindrical pipe joints using GMAW (MIG). Calibrated machine settings for thin-wall tubing to ensure proper penetration without burn-through.
• AAA Canadian Welding Academy: Completed 280 hours of intensive shop training focused on structural steel welding. Prepared CWB-standard test plates (3/8-inch steel, V-groove) focusing on proper root penetration.
