I am a professional, full-time tutor with over 20 years of tutoring experience in Winnipeg. I have an extensive understanding of the Manitoba high school and university curricula and specialize in mathematics and sciences.

My goal is not simply to help students get through their assignments. I focus on building genuine understanding, explaining challenging concepts clearly, and giving students the confidence to work through problems independently.

I maintain the curriculum materials and textbooks for almost all of the courses I tutor, allowing me to work closely with the material students are actually learning in their classrooms.

MY BACKGROUND

I have been self-employed as a full-time tutor for more than two decades, working with both adolescents and adults. I currently provide tutoring online.

I graduated from St. Mary's Academy and attended the University of Manitoba, where I completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with a double major in Microbiology and Chemistry.

While attending the University of Manitoba, I worked with tutoring companies and gained extensive experience helping students understand challenging academic material. After graduation, I began tutoring full-time and have continued to do so ever since.

MY APPROACH

Every student learns differently, so I adapt my approach to the individual.
Typically, I begin by making sure the student has a solid understanding of the underlying concepts and background information. We then work through practice problems together, address questions and areas of difficulty, and gradually transition to having the student solve problems independently.

I believe that a good tutor should be able to explain the same concept in different ways until it makes sense to the student. My approach is patient, thorough and focused on understanding rather than memorization.

I also maintain communication with students' teachers when appropriate and am happy to stay informed about upcoming tests, assignments and areas where additional support may be needed.

10:00 AM–12:00 PM
12:00–2:00 PM

Sessions are two hours. Breaks can be taken during a session when requested.
