Heavy Duty Mechanic Wanted

Putsy’s Manure Hauling Ltd. is a dedicated cattle manure hauling company based in southern Alberta (Picture Butte area, serving the region and surrounding areas). We pride ourselves on providing reliable, high-quality service to our agricultural customers and maintaining a reliable fleet to keep operations running smoothly.
We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic (journeyman ticket not required) to join our team and keep our heavy trucks, trailers, and equipment in peak condition.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform strict 80-hour service intervals on all heavy trucks and trailers, including full inspections, greasing, tire changes, and repairing/replacing any worn or broken parts.
• Conduct 500-hour service intervals on excavators, including oil changes and other required maintenance.
• During slower seasons, carry out more thorough inspections and proactive repairs to prepare equipment for the busy season.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical systems, transmissions, and other heavy-duty components.
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards for fieldwork.

Schedule:
• When equipment is working (peak season): Monday - Friday 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM (long days to support operations). Saturday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM. (General busy periods incude March - June and August - late December (weather dependant).
• When no equipment is running (slower periods): 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Compensation & Benefits:
• Competitive wage based on experience (to be determined during interview).

Requirements:
• We are more than willing to train and work with the right person that shows initiative and willingness to learn.
• Strong knowledge of heavy trucks, trailers, and agricultural/construction equipment (e.g., excavators).
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and maintain detailed service records.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle to get to and from work.
• Reliable, safety-minded, and able to handle physically demanding work in a shop/field environment.
