Job Summary
Mark Sluys Farm is looking for a reliable and hardworking Dairy Herdsperson to join our dairy operation in Listowel, Ontario.

The successful candidate will work as part of the farm team and assist with the daily care of dairy cattle, maintaining a clean and safe barn environment, and completing general farm duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for some or all of the following duties:
- Feeding and watering dairy cattle
- Assisting with milking cows and maintaining proper milking procedures
- Monitoring cows for signs of illness, injury, heat, calving, or other health concerns
- Assisting with calving and providing care to newborn calves
- Cleaning and maintaining animal housing, pens, stalls, and equipment
- Moving cattle between pens and handling cattle safely
- Administering treatments and medications
- Maintaining accurate livestock and production records
- Operating farm equipment and machinery as required
- Cleaning and maintaining milking equipment and other farm equipment
- Other general dairy farm duties as required

Employment Requirements:

- Previous experience working with livestock or on a farm is an asset but is not required.
- Previous dairy farm experience is an asset. ( number of years of experience)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work around livestock.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and farm procedures.
- Reliable and willing to work a flexible schedule.
- Willingness to work weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays as required by the farm's operating schedule.
