WELCOME to our fully insulated and heated Cozy Cabin on the shores of Beaver Lake. Established in 1937, this well built cedar cottage has stood the test of time, has been updated to create the cozy space it is today. With west facing views, our sunsets are remarkable and we hope you take the time to pause, relax and breathe, during your stay. We have endeavoured to create a space that takes the hassle out of packing, by supplying you with many of the same comforts of home. See list of cabin amenities below. This is a NO-SMOKING space for two adults only. Sorry, no children or pets at this time.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT – 2pm check-in and 11am check-out. Key will be left in the front door, please leave the key in same place upon departure.

PARKING – Please park in the main driveway. By foot, make your way down the left side of the A-Frame house (approx. 150ft). Cabin is located on the waters edge to the right of the waterfront pergola. There is a gorilla cart in the temporary garage available to assist you in moving items to and from the cabin. Please help yourselves.

WATER - The cottage taps and shower are fed by untreated lake water. Please use the bottled water provided for all cooking and consumption. Ice cube trays also need to be refilled with bottled water.

HEAT – There are two adjustable baseboard headers. The one in the living room is digital and after turning on, you can adjust with the up and down arrows. The one in the bathroom is manual. Turn the dial clockwise to turn on and raise the temperature and counter-clockwise to lower temperature and turn off.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING – Both are located under the kitchen sink. Please separate your garbage from your recycling, within the two supplied bins. If they need to be emptied during your stay, large labeled garbage cans are located to the left of the mid-yard storage shed and new bags are located in the bottom drawer of the butcher block/cutlery cabinet.

FIREPIT – Paper, lighter, fire starters are in the wooden chest-coffee table in the cabin. Wood is stacked close to the firepit (chiminea,) in a clearing behind the cabin. Occasionally, burn bans are in place and we will advise you, if this is the case. Please take all fire safety precautions. Fire extinguisher is under the kitchen sink.

INTERNET – Wifi password is posted on the shelf in the cabin.
TOILET - Compost toilet. (user friendly, odour free – no mixing of products required)

INDUCTION COOKTOP – A pot or pan must be on the cooktop for it to work.

BBQ – Please turn the propane off at the tank after each use and be sure the barbeque is a safe distance from the cabin wall when in use.

WATER ACCESS – You have private decks and water access through a set of stone steps, please be careful. Depending on the water level, some steps may be under water and slippery.

WATER TOYS – We have kayaks and a canoe. Paddles, lifejackets and safety gear are in the mid-yard storage shed. Please be aware of the weather and wind, (both of which can change quickly.) Be sure to paddle into the wind to make your return easier. You must each have a well fitting lifejacket, and take along an orange boat essential kit including: whistle, flashlight and 15m tow rope. The orange watertight container can also be used as a bailer. Taking a cell phone is always a good idea.

LOCAL AMENITIES - The village of Tamworth (Est. 1848) is located 3km from the cottage. It hosts a multitude of services including: Grocery store (with ATM,) LCBO, Pharmacy, Hardware Store, bakeries, restaurants, post office, library, fire station/arena-pickleball/Legion/ice cream/pizza shop, Blue door Bakery, Scoops (ice cream/pizza,) A1Restaurant, used book store. The Lakeview Tavern can be found in Erinsville, (other end of the lake) on Hwy 41. Dark Night Viewing, Menzel Provincial Park (free walking trail)

Napanee 41 at 401 has police, hospital, Walmart, large grocery chains, fast food, and usual amenities of a small town.
