Description
Hello,

My name is Austin. I’m 27 years old, mature, dependable, and hardworking, and I’m looking for an opportunity to begin a career as a Heavy Equipment Technician.
I want to be upfront about why I’m posting this ad: getting into this trade has become a genuine dream of mine.

I spent several years trying to figure out what I truly wanted to pursue as a career. I didn’t want to commit myself to something simply because it was a job or because it paid well. I wanted to find a skilled trade that I could genuinely become passionate about, take pride in, and continue learning throughout my career.

After putting a lot of thought into my future, watching and learning more about the heavy equipment trade, and speaking with people who actually work in the industry, I realized this is what I want to do.

I’m fascinated by the mechanical side of heavy equipment—the troubleshooting, repairs, diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and the amount of knowledge that goes into keeping equipment operating. The more I’ve learned about the trade, the more certain I’ve become that this is the career I want to pursue.

I understand that I have to earn my way into this trade, and I’m completely willing to start at the bottom. I’m looking for an entry-level or helper position where I can work alongside experienced technicians, learn the right way of doing things, prove my work ethic, and hopefully earn the opportunity to become indentured as a Heavy Equipment Technician apprentice.

I bring 6 years of hands-on experience involving construction, fabrication, electrical work, equipment operation, service work, and hand and power tools. I’m mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, comfortable with physical work, and willing to listen and learn.

At 27, I’m not looking for another temporary job. I’m looking for the company and trade that I can build my career around. If someone is willing to give me an opportunity, they’re getting someone who genuinely wants to be there and wants to become excellent at at the trade.

I hold a Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence, along with H2S Alive, CPR/AED Level C, WHMIS 2015, and CSTS-2020.

If your company is willing to give a motivated newcomer an opportunity to prove himself, I would be extremely grateful to speak with you.

I’m ready to work, ready to learn, and excited to become part of a team where I can build the career I’ve been searching for.
