Immediate Opening | Saltair / Central Vancouver Island

GNB Builders Inc. is looking to fill an experienced carpenter position as soon as possible. We are an established, award-winning custom home builder working on high-quality residential projects from Chemainus to Nanaimo, with our current project located in Saltair.

We are looking for a well-rounded carpenter with strong residential construction experience who is comfortable working independently and helping lead apprentices and labourers on site.

Experience We’re Looking For:
• Residential framing
• Exterior siding, including soffits and finishing details
• Window and exterior door installation
• Interior and exterior finishing
• Concrete forming and foundation work
• Retaining walls
• Patios, stairs, driveways and detailed formwork
• Ability to read and interpret building plans
• General residential construction from foundation through finishing
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Experience with Burke forming systems and ICF is an asset.

Leadership & Teamwork
Our typical crew size is approximately 4 people.
The successful applicant must be comfortable:
• Leading and providing direction to apprentices and labourers
• Organizing portions of the workday and keeping tasks moving
• Working independently when required
• Communicating clearly with the crew and management
• Maintaining GNB Builders’ standards for quality workmanship and a clean, professional jobsite

We are looking for someone who is reliable, honest, hardworking and takes pride in their work.

Requirements:
• Several years of hands-on residential carpentry experience
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
• Driver’s abstract required upon hiring
• Personal protective equipment and tool belt
• Level 1 Occupational First Aid, or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working primarily between Chemainus and Nanaimo
