We are looking for energetic individuals with a passion for sport to help instruct children’s programs: Mini Movers, Lil Movers, and Sport Mash Up Programs.


General Information: Located at Shaw Civic Center


Mini Movers: ages 2-3 yrs old. Leaders will teach toddlers to develop fundamental movements skills through games, activities and a fun learning environment.

Saturdays 9:15 – 10:00am Sept 19 through Oct 24,

and / or

Oct 31 through Nov 28


Lil Movers: ages 3-5 yrs old. Leaders will help children develop fundamental motor and movement skills through games, activities and a fun learning environment.

Saturdays 10:15 – 11:00am Sept 19 through October 24.


Sport Mash Up: 6-10 yrs old. Leaders will help kids develop finer motor skills and technique by providing basic fundamentals of a variety of sports (basketball, soccer, floor hockey, badminton, flag football, and volleyball).

Saturdays 10:15 – 11:00am. Oct 31 – Nov 28

· Rate of Pay: $19.65/hour

· Each course will have 2 leaders, so you will be co-leading the program.


Qualifications:


· Must be 16 years of age or older

· Experience working with children ages 3 to 9 is preferred

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Knowledge of the fundamental skills of sport. Past involvement and participation in sports is an asset.

· The ability to lead a group of children in a structured activity

· CPR/SFA certification is an asset


Duties and Expectations:

· Leaders must have the ability to arrive 10 minutes prior to the class starting to set up and 10 minutes after the class to clean up.

· Consistent attendance for the entirety of the program (6 weeks).

· Communicate with the recreation technician about any attendance concerns.

· Instruct a group of children based on criteria provided.

· Prepare lesson plans for classes that reflect the level of the participants.

· Provide constructive feedback throughout the lesson set to the participant and parents.
