Why your piano should be tuned at least once a year regardless of how often it is played? The typical advise is to tune it at least twice a year: shortly after the heating and cooling season begins. If left untuned for long time, the lack of proper tension on the soundboard by 228 strings, may physically change the arched shape of the soundboard and alter the sound and projection of the piano to less desirable.

The best way to keep your piano in tune is to tune your piano. Once tuned, it is easier to keep it in shape with touch-ups and regularly-scheduled tunings. Don't wait until you can't stand the sound anymore. The repair and maintenance of the instrument is kept to a minimum cost and will save money in repairs and unneeded pitch raises. A regularly tuned piano is appreciated by a player as well as the listeners. If your piano needs a replacement of keys, I do it.
