Forklift Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse/distribution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise, while maintaining accurate inventory records and a clean, organized work area.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a forklift (sit-down, stand-up, or reach truck) to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and loading dock areas
Stack and store materials in designated locations, ensuring efficient use of space
Load and unload trucks and containers accurately and safely
Inspect forklift before and after each shift, reporting any mechanical issues or needed repairs
Verify inventory counts against shipping/receiving documents
Maintain accurate records of items moved
Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
Communicate with warehouse team and supervisors regarding inventory levels and material flow
Assist with general warehouse duties as needed (picking, packing, labeling)

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid forklift certification/license (or willingness to obtain certification)
Prior forklift operating experience preferred (6 months–2 years)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Basic math skills for inventory counts
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
Familiarity with RF scanners/barcode systems
Prior experience in a distribution center or manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent bending, twisting, and climbing
Ability to work in varying temperatures (warehouse environment)
Prolonged periods of sitting/standing while operating equipme
