You are invited to participate in a study about how people neurally perceive various individuals. If you decide to participate, you will be asked to view dozens of face images while we record your brain activity using electroencephalography (EEG) and respond to a behavioural task and to a few questionnaires.

Depending on your reading and response speed, the study is expected to take approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour. Participants will receive short breaks during the course of the task as needed. Participants will receive a financial incentive in the form of a $25 gift card (e.g., Amazon, Indigo, Visa). We are recruiting 60 participants. All individuals over 17 years of age and who self-identify as Asian or White are welcome to participate. People with visual impairment (that cannot be corrected using contact lenses or glasses) will not be eligible to participate in the current study. This study will be completed in-person at the Psychology Research and Training Center (PRTC) at 105 Bond Street using EEG software and has received ethics approval from the Toronto Metropolitan University Research Ethics Board (REB # 2025-377).
