HOUSEMATE / COLOCATAIRE WANTED in LASALLE, MONTRÉAL

City of Montréal,
Posted 2 weeks ago
Description
**Looking for a housemate, not simply someone to rent a room to.**

Inside a comfortable home, duplex, second level, fair costs, personal space; even an optional way to earn extra income (if you like).

I’m currently looking for the **right person to share my place in LaSalle**; someone respectful, communicative, independent and interested in creating a comfortable living arrangement that works well for both of us.

Naturally you would have your **own private bedroom**, while sharing a spacious home with furnished common areas, a large dining and living/entertaining room with large TV screen, music and gaming, large kitchen with dinette space, laundry, parking, garage storage, and even a small retro-gaming arcade room. I also have an office/work room, that I can share when not in use.

The basic idea is simple: **50/50 shared household costs**

By the way, to earn extra cash, I'm also a Media Partner for a multinational company. So if you like, there is also an **optional opportunity for you to earn some extra cash like I do (good returns for time spend). There are no fixed hours, no schedule and absolutely no obligation to participate at all. Not complicated at all, easy and the more you do the more you will earn, all up to you and time will to invest into this. If interested, I will provide the support, tools and even a laptop if needed.

The goal is to make sharing a home simply **more affordable, comfortable and potentially more financially rewarding for us both.**

After 40 years in business, this is the best side-business there is to earn extra cash for anyone who is will to grind it.

# A Little About Me

I’m a **Gen X guy**, born and raised in **Montréal**, and I’m fully bilingual in **French and English**.

I’d describe myself as **open-minded, respectful, communicative and fairly laid-back**. I believe good communication and mutual respect are the most important things when sharing a home.

My professional background has mainly been in **technology sales, business consultant and customer service**, so I’ve spent most of my working life dealing with people, businesses and technology. Will share my LinkedIn Profile with you.

Outside of work, I enjoy being also a **graphic designer**, and I always seem to have some kind of personal project on the go. I’m very **tech-savvy** and interested in both modern and nostalgic of retro technology.

I enjoy gaming as well — everything from **classic consoles and arcade machines to modern games**.

I like having a home where you can relax, watch TV or enjoy the latest movie, work on your own on-going projects, play video games, have dinner, or simply enjoy some quiet time reading.

I’m also completely comfortable with someone having their own friends/family, routine, hobbies and activities.

**You won't be expected to socialize with me all the time.** if we become friends that a plus but respect is the only thing needed to make it work. Having your own private life and personal space is important and I respect that.

# The Home

The idea is to have **two independent people sharing a comfortable home**, access to the common areas and our private space.

### Your Private Space
* Your own private bedroom
* Bring your own bedroom furniture
* Your own personal space and privacy

### My Private Space
* My own private bedroom
* office/work room that I primarily use

The office room is primarily my workspace, but I'm open in finding practical ways of sharing or using it when appropriate.

### Shared Areas

The home includes:

* Large **living room** with dining room
* Large sofas
* **Large 4K TV Screen with Movies**
* Xbox One gaming and stereo setups
* Kitchen with dinette space
* Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Washer and Dryer**
* Shared entertainment/game area
* Garage storage space

And there is also a small **retro-gaming room** with:

An authentic 80s arcade machine
Classic video-game consoles
A large CRT/tube television

I real fun place to live and that's part of what makes the home different.

# ️ Furniture & Storage

For your bedroom, BYOF: **Bring Your Own furniture**, ex. your own bed, dresser, nightstand, etc., as it is not furnished.

For the rest of your furniture and belongings, you may have, **we can decide together what makes the most sense to keep inside the home** or to store away.

Since the common areas are already furnished, there may be furniture or other items that we would have duplicates of.

Rather than getting rid of things unnecessarily, **we can use the garage to store duplicate furniture or belongings that we don't need inside the home**.

I’m also open to **rearranging or changing some of the existing furniture** when it makes sense and there is enough space.

The idea is simply to make the home **comfortable, practical and pleasant for both of us** and people we may invite at times.

# Sharing the Cost of Living

Let's be honest — **the cost of living has gone up considerably**.

Rent, electricity, heating, air conditioning, hot water, internet, television, groceries and everyday expenses can add up quickly.

One of the reasons I’m opening my home to a housemate (not roommate) is to **share those costs instead of having to carry the entire burden of a household alone**.

The basic arrangement is:

## **Rent shared household expenses = 50/50**

Shared expenses can include things such as:

* Rent
* Internet
* TV
* Electricity
* Other normal shared household expenses

I want to keep the arrangement **simple, fair and transparent** rather than nickel-and-diming each other over every little expense.

### ⚡ Electricity

Because I use a dedicated space for my office/work room**, I will cover the cost of electricity entirely the whole year including winter heating cost (that over $2000 per year).

### Monthly Cost

**Your share of rent: $800 / month**

**Shared household costs: divided 50/50**

---

# OPTIONAL: If needed, you earn some extra income

This part is **completely optional**.

You can simply be my housemate and have nothing to do with my side income business.

However, if you are interested in earning extra cash, I am a **business/media partner** with a multinational company and which I'm developing new business relationships, primarily in the **pet-shop / pet-retail market**.

The work resolves in contacting pet-shop owners and introducing them to a wholesale purchasing a risk-free opportunity to them with **no upfront cost**, an **instant credit line**, and promotional benefits such as **50% off the first B2B purchase**.

### **Compensation: $200-$300 for each new client placing their first small order**, Easy Peasy!

Willing to provide support:
* Training
* A clear ëasy roadmap
* The tools needed to get started
* Guidance and support
* A laptop if needed

You only only need to reach out to Petshop owners and let them know about the opportunity to increase their purchasing power with this multi-wholesalers company

### There is no fixed schedule.
Fun part is that, there is...
**No fixed hours.**
**No minimum number of hours.**
**No requirement to participate.**

You can do it whenever you feel like it and have time to spare or when you feel like making some extra money. That's what I do!

You could keep it very part-time, or potentially spend much more time on it if you discover that you enjoy the work and want to pursue it more seriously.

The idea is simply to give you **another way to earn extra cash around your own schedule** as a side gig.

It sure helps me with my monthly expenses and to afford doing fun activities.

This also help saving for:
✈️ A vacation
A new computer
A vehicle
A new hobby
Any personal project
Savings or simply more financial breathing room

For the right person, the income could potentially cover **part or even all of their monthly housing costs**, depending on how many petshops have successfully placed their first orders.

Not for everyone, and **this is completely optional** and has nothing to do with whether you are accepted as a housemate.

# Making Life a Little Easier

Ultimately, I like the idea of creating an arrangement that makes life **a little easier for us**.

Rather than each person paying the full cost of maintaining a household alone, we can share the expenses and enjoy a home with more space, more amenities and more possibilities.

And for someone who wants it, the optional business opportunity provides another way to generate income that can go toward **whatever matters to them**.

I think a good housemate arrangement should ideally make life **more comfortable, more affordable and give both people a little more freedom**.

# Great Location — LaSalle H8P 1V5

The home is located in the **H8P 1V5 area of LaSalle**, in a residential area close to everyday services, shopping, recreation and outdoor activities.

One of the things I really like about the location is the proximity to the **waterfront and the Lachine Rapids / St. Lawrence River area**.

The **LaSalle/Lachine bicycle and multi-use paths** are also nearby, making it easy to get outside for:

Cycling
Walking
Running
Outdoor recreation
Enjoying the waterfront

### Nearby everyday conveniences include:

* **Couche-Tard 24-hour dépanneur**
* **Place LaSalle** shopping and services
* **Metro Plus** and * **Super C** groceries
* Fast-food, Restaurants, local businesses and even a **Sports bar** to watch games in less than 500 meters from home.
* Two pharmacies close-by, among other everyday services.

And for larger shopping trips:
## ️ Carrefour Angrignon — approximately 10 minutes away

There are also many additional shops, restaurants and services throughout LaSalle and the surrounding area.

So you get a great and **comfortable residential environment while remaining close to shopping, entertainment, services and the waterfront**.

### Parking
A **reserved parking space directly in front of the home** is available for the housemate. So having a car is absolutely fine. Many bus lines to go to metros.

# Who I'm Looking For
I'm much more interested in finding the **right person** than simply filling a room.

Ideally, you're someone who is:
* Respectful
* Responsible
* Clean and considerate in shared spaces
* Comfortable communicating openly
* Reasonably organized
* Respectful of privacy and personal space
* Looking for a stable and comfortable shared-home arrangement

You don't need to be exactly like me.

You don't need to be a gamer.

You don't need to participate in my business.

You don't even need to socialize with me constantly.

The most important things are simply:

### **Respect. Friendly, Communication. Cleanliness. Consideration.**

---

# What I'm Hoping to Create
I'm not looking for someone who simply pays rent and disappears behind a closed bedroom door.

At the same time, I'm not looking for someone who expects to share every aspect of their life with their housemate. Independence is key.

I'm looking for something in between:
## **Two independent adults sharing a good home, respecting each other's privacy, splitting costs fairly and making the living situation enjoyable for both.**

You have your room.

I have mine.

We share the home.

We communicate when something needs to be discussed.

We respect each other's routines and privacy.

And hopefully, it becomes a place where **both of us feel comfortable calling it home**.

---

# Interested?
If you've read this far, congrats! You're probably the kind of person I'm hoping to hear from.

Send me a message and tell me a little about yourself.

I'd especially like to know:

**Who are you?
What are you looking for in a shared-home situation?
What do you do for work or school?
What kind of living environment works best for you?**

We can chat first, get to know each other a little, and then arrange a visit, have a coffee and/or visit the area.

There is **no pressure and no commitment just from contacting me**.

The goal is simply to see whether we're a good fit.
