Job Opportunity: Equipment Operator / Labourer (Term Position)
Rural Municipality of Paddockwood No. 520
The RM of Paddockwood No. 520 is seeking a skilled, reliable, and hardworking Equipment Operator to join our public works team on a term basis.
This role combines operating a variety of municipal equipment with essential hands-on outdoor physical labor to support road infrastructure, right-of-way maintenance, and municipal projects.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate equipment including skidsteers, wheel loaders, trackhoes, tractors, and mowers for roadside grass cutting, ditching, culvert work, material handling, and general maintenance.
General Outdoor Labour: Perform manual physical tasks as required, including culvert clearing and installation, sign installation/repairs, brush cutting, equipment washdowns, and general roadside labor.
Equipment Care: Conduct daily pre- and post-operation checks, perform basic routine maintenance (greasing, fluid checks), and promptly report mechanical needs.
Safety & Compliance: Follow municipal safety policies, road regulations, and provincial safety standards at all times.
Teamwork: Work productively alongside the public works crew and carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Practical experience operating skidsteers, loaders, trackhoes, and/or tractors with mowers.
Ability and willingness to perform regular, hands-on physical labor in outdoor weather conditions.
Licensing Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License required.
Class 5 with a G endorsement (Heavy Trailer) is considered an asset.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.
Ability to take direction, work well independently, and function as part of a team.
