Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck and Trailer mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trucks and trailers. This position requires someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks and trailers.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, tire rotations, and inspections.
Component Overhaul: Overhaul engines, transmissions, differentials, and other major components as needed.
Brake and Suspension Work: Repair and replace brake systems, suspension components, and other critical systems.
Electrical Work: Repair wiring, lighting systems, and other electrical components in trucks and trailers.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet safety regulations and standards.
Tool Management: Maintain and manage shop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to explain repairs and provide updates on their vehicles.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in truck and trailer repair.
Certification: A valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license is required.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brake systems, and electrical systems.
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues efficiently.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and ensure high-quality repairs.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding environments. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with diagnostic software and tools.
Experience with fleet maintenance.
