Standby AZ Driver

**Pay Rate:** $24.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience
**Shift:** Usually 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., depending on coverage requirements

Position Overview

We are currently hiring reliable and experienced drivers to join our standby driver pool. Standby drivers provide coverage when regular company drivers are unavailable due to vacation, illness, scheduled time off, or other unexpected absences.

This is an on-call position. Successful candidates must be flexible and prepared to accept available coverage shifts, sometimes on short notice. The number of hours and shifts may vary depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities

* Provide driver coverage when regular drivers are unavailable
* Complete scheduled deliveries and pickups safely and efficiently
* Follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and dispatch instructions
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
* Load, secure, and unload products when required
* Complete delivery paperwork and obtain signatures where necessary
* Maintain professional communication with dispatch, customers, and warehouse staff
* Follow all company policies, traffic laws, and safety procedures
* Report delivery delays, vehicle concerns, or incidents immediately

Requirements

* Valid driver’s licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle
* Previous commercial or delivery driving experience preferred
* Clean or acceptable driver’s abstract
* Ability to work approximately 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., depending on coverage
* Flexible availability and willingness to accept on-call shifts
* Reliable transportation to and from the work location
* Strong communication, time-management, and customer-service skills
* Ability to safely perform physical duties associated with deliveries
* Dependable, punctual, and professional

### Important Information

This is a standby position and does not guarantee a fixed weekly schedule. Drivers will be contacted when coverage is required due to vacations, sick calls, scheduled absences, or other staffing needs. Candidates with strong performance and consistent availability may receive more frequent shift opportunities.
