MECHANIC – TRUCK & COACH / HEAVY MECHANIC

Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and skilled MECHANIC specializing in TRUCK & COACH / HEAVY EQUIPMENT to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational, reliable, and ready for demanding work environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including dump trucks, excavators, cranes, loaders, dozers, and other heavy equipment/vehicles, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver top-quality service.

Duties
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks, loaders, dozers, excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC vehicle systems, and other industrial equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and electrical testing methods.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and power tools.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs efficiently.
• Conduct detailed troubleshooting based on manufacturer specifications and schematics to identify root causes of malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
• Assist with assembly or installation of new equipment or machinery as needed to support operational requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks while providing excellent customer service.
• Maintain and operate the Ontario “Drive ON” program through provided computers and other equipment.

Qualifications
• Valid 310T Certification
• Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment; dealership experience is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical knowledge across various machinery including trucks, coaches, excavators, cranes, forklifts.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics related to heavy equipment maintenance.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary.
• Experience with automotive repair techniques specific to large vehicles and industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems related to vehicle or industrial applications is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
