Dr. Bob recently retired from the University of Saskatchewan after more than 25 years teaching horticulture, plant propagation, greenhouse management, fruit science, and more. He led the internationally recognized USASK Fruit Program, and just last month was inducted into the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame!

Coleus isn’t just a beautiful ornamental plant—Dr. Bob says it’s the best plant for teaching pruning, cuttings, and propagation. He’s spent 25 years breeding coleus and developing new varieties, including the award-winning “Under the Sea” series, famous for its incredible colours, textures, and wildly unique leaf shapes. One researcher from Proven Winners even remarked, “You have the world’s weirdest coleus!”
