Position: Cleaner / Day Porter
Location: Saint John Cruise Ship Terminal, Saint John, NB
Company: IHW Services Inc
Employment Type: Part-Time / Seasonal
Shifts: 8-12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
Job Overview:
JaniKing Cleaning Services is seeking dedicated and reliable Day Porters to join our team at the Saint John Cruise Ship Terminal. As a Day Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the terminal maintains a clean and welcoming environment for cruise passengers and visitors during ship visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the terminal, including public areas, restrooms, and office spaces.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
- Respond to spills or emergencies in a timely manner, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Interact courteously and professionally with passengers, cruise staff, and other personnel.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements
- Min 2-years commercial cleaning experience
- Must be bondable and pass a Federal Security Background Check.- REQUIRED
- Reliable transportation to and from the terminal is essential. REQUIRED
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous cleaning or facilities maintenance experience is an asset, but not required.
