ONE FULL-TIME POSITION FOR DISTRICT BLADE OPERATOR
Description
The County of Warner No. 5 is accepting applications for a full-time Blade Operator to join our Public Works team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, dependable, and safety-conscious operator who takes pride in maintaining quality rural roads and providing reliable service to residents and the travelling public.
The position will be based primarily out of the Raymond and New Dayton District shops, with work in other areas of the County as needed. Duties include grader operation, equipment care and maintenance, road maintenance, snow plowing, sanding, and other Public Works duties as required.
The County offers an excellent benefit package, pension plan, and an attractive Monday to Thursday work schedule of 10 hours per day.
The successful candidate should have:
• The ability to report on time for daily operations and be available for winter snow plowing and on-call snow events when required.
• Five years of experience in grader operations.
• A valid operator’s licence; a Class 3 driver’s licence would be considered an asset.
• Tandem snowplow experience, which would be considered an asset.
• The ability to work independently, plan daily work effectively, and maintain district roads consistently throughout the area.
• A willingness to assist with labour-related duties as needed.
• Knowledge of the County of Warner rural road system would be considered an asset.
This role also requires:
• Availability for on-call work during snowstorm events.
• A reliable employment record and strong attendance.
Compensation will be based on experience and in accordance with County of Warner No. 5 policy.
