Part-Time Female Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Location: Doon South, Kitchener, ON

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide one-on-one support for a teenager with physical disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact by assisting with daily living activities and promoting independence and quality of life.

Schedule
Monday to Friday: Before and after school.
Weekends: Mornings
Additional hours may be available during school breaks and holidays.
Responsibilities
-Assist with personal care, including toileting, dressing, bathing, and hygiene.
-Perform safe transfers using a ceiling lift and wheelchair.
-Assist with feeding and meal/snack preparation, as needed.
-Support stretching, mobility exercises, and positioning.
-Accompany and assist with community outings and recreational activities.
-Provide support with homework and educational activities, when required.
-Complete light housekeeping related to the individual's care, including laundry and maintaining adaptive equipment.
-Monitor comfort and well-being and communicate any concerns to the family.
-Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

Qualifications
-Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate or equivalent experience.
-Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities is preferred.
-Experience with mechanical lifts and adaptive equipment is an asset (training can be provided).
-Current CPR and First Aid Certification is an asset.
-Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
-Reliable, patient, compassionate, and able to work independently.
Valid driver's licence preferred.

Compensation
Competitive hourly wage, based on experience.
