Looking for an Automotive Dismantler for South Side Auto Recycler.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Parts Dismantler to join out team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for properly disassembling various mechanical components from salvage vehicles, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the process.
This role requires a strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
As an Automotive Dismantler, you will play an important role in supporting our recycling operations by preparing parts for reuse, resale, or proper disposal.
You will be responsible for efficiently disassembling vehicles, identifying and extracting usable parts, and making sure they're removed in a manner that won't cause damage to it or surrounding parts.
Basic automotive knowledge a must.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a automotive dismantling, salvage yards, mechanics or related fields is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automotive systems and components.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used for dismantling vehicles.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers and experience with power tools such as drills, grinders, or saws is a plus.
- Attention to detail and the ability to assess the condition and quality of salvaged parts.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Dependable transportation.
- Own hand tools.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
Responsibilities:
- Carefully disassemble mechanical components using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Identify and sort parts for reuse, resale, or recycling according to company standards.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Inspect parts for damage or wear, documenting findings as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
- Assist team members with related tasks as needed to meet production goals.

Hours of work would be Monday to Friday: 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
