Apprentice Diesel Mechanic – 6 Months Experience Required*

Eagle Shunt Fleet is looking for a motivated and hardworking *Apprentice Diesel Mechanic* to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with *6 months or more hands-on experience* who wants to grow their skills in heavy truck and diesel equipment repair.

You will work with experienced mechanics and learn to diagnose, repair, and maintain *Freightliner Cascadia day cabs and Capacity yard trucks*.

### Responsibilities:

* Assist with diesel truck inspections, maintenance, and repairs
* Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs under the guidance of experienced mechanics
* Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacement, and component repairs
* Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment
* Assist with electrical and hydraulic system checks
* Support mobile service calls at customer yard locations when required
* Maintain a clean and safe work area and service vehicle

### Requirements:

* Minimum *6 months of experience* working on diesel trucks, heavy equipment, or automotive repairs
* Basic understanding of mechanical systems
* Willingness to learn and develop diesel mechanic skills
* Basic knowledge of hand tools and repair procedures
* Valid driver's license
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment
* Good time management skills
* Willingness to attend service calls when needed

### Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with heavy trucks or commercial vehicles is an asset
* Basic knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle maintenance
