Hello, I’m a music teacher for Edmonton Public Schools, offering beginner to advanced piano lessons* out of my Windermere home in Ambleside. With over twenty years of experience teaching piano, I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education from the University of Alberta with Distinction (2020). I also have a Music Diploma in Piano Performance from MacEwan University (2009). I’m a certified Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) teacher, holding a Diploma in Elementary Piano Pedagogy. I am currently working on my Master’s Certificate in Elementary Music Teaching and Learning at UAlberta. 

Pricing: $32 for a half hour lesson, $45 for 45 minutes, $60 for an hour. 
FREE INTRODUCTORY LESSON. 

Music styles offered: Classical, Jazz, Blues,  Popular, and everything in between. 
Specialties and Areas of Expertise: Working with kids, teens, young adults, and beginner adults. I welcome people that are neurodivergent, those with complex needs, and those with cognitive and learning challenges. I believe everyone can benefit from specialized instruction and care in a musical setting, whatever their specific goals may be. 

Payment Policy: Payment required monthly, with a 24 hour cancellation policy in advance.I prefer we make up lessons sometime within the same week. 

Lesson Amenities: Lessons are taught on my Yamaha U1 in a designated music room with seating available for parents or guardians. If you prefer, you may wait in the living room, car, or access Currents of Windermere, a shopping centre close by. Bathroom available for students and their guests.

Resources & Supplies: I write my student’s weekly assignments in their lesson notebook, which is provided, and I use the Piano Adventures Method to start. I tailor lessons according to student goals and interests as they progress past introductory lesson method books. Whether that be working through the RCM repertoire and studies books for exam preparations, or accessing my vast music library that holds the Classic essentials, jazz resources from MacEwan, sheet music of all styles, technique books, theory, etc. 

Opportunities: I can prepare students for exams, festivals, gigs, and more. As I build my studio, recital opportunities will arise, allowing friends and family to celebrate your musical milestones.

Pre-requisite to lessons: None, I just ask you to have a keyboard or piano to practice on before beginning lessons to ensure your money is well spent.

Availability: Lessons are available on weeknights and during the summer.

Special Considerations: Music lessons are on the main floor of the house and are wheelchair accessible. Allergic to cats? I have three that love you hear how you’re doing!

Special Guitar Referral: For advanced guitar lessons, my partner teaches out of our home as well. He is a fantastic jazz guitarist and is a knowledgeable and caring instructor, a MacEwan Music Diploma holder. He teaches beginner to advanced, all styles and has been gigging in Edmonton for 20 plus years.
