If you don't mind driving a stick shift (manual transmission) and you are looking for a reliable used car, with a low cost of ownership, then consider this car. It has been my loyal and reliable highway commuter car, driven mainly between Stratford and the GTA over the years. The car has approximately 341,000 km on the odometer (Keep calm and read on to get the full picture).

Major work recently done:

* The engine was recently replaced at 327,200 km (December 2025) with a used engine that had only approximately 110,000 km on it. The first engine had to be replaced due to a cracked engine block and leaking coolant (thus overheating problem). Refer to Honda TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) 10-048. This was a common problem with the first few years of the 8th generation Civic (more specifically 2006-2009).
* At the time of engine replacement, I also had new clutch components installed (pressure plate, clutch and release bearings).

Routine maintenance done (oil changes and routine servicing every 5000 to 6000 km).

The car genuinely runs well and is fuel efficient. Measured fuel economy over the last 4 years ranges from 33 to 39 miles per gallon (mpg) (or 8.5 litres/100 km to 7.3 litres/100 km) combined city and highway driving. The AC and heating still work well. The car has power windows and central power door lock.

There are some rust marks along the lower sections of the car and around the rear wheel arches. There is also an area of metal decay close to the right rear wheel. The Check Engine light comes on occasionally then clears itself soon after (due to P420 diagnostic error code: Catalytic Converter Efficiency).

My heart does not want to sell this car. Why am I selling it? My left leg can no longer keep up with the rigor of driving a stick shift in GTA traffic. That's the simple reason. The car has done a “heart transplant” and I suspect it will likely be able to go another 250,000 to 300,000 km.

Four (4) new all-season tires were installed in late April 2026.

I have put effort into taking care of this car and it is still in reliable operation for my personal use.

Notwithstanding, the vehicle is being Sold As-Is by Private Sale and is not represented as being in roadworthy condition.
