Stable Manager – Full-Time
Moose Hill Ranch Equestrian Centre
Moose Hill Ranch Equestrian Centre is seeking an experienced, responsible, and highly capable Stable Manager to join our team. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with weekends off, ideal for a motivated individual who can work independently while also thriving in a team environment.
Position Overview
The Stable Manager will oversee daily barn operations and ensure the highest standard of horse care, facility management, and client interaction. This role requires strong equine knowledge, physical fitness, excellent organizational skills, and a friendly, professional presence.
Qualifications & Skills
• Extensive equine experience is required
• Strong understanding of both English and Western disciplines
• Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently
• Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team
• Excellent public relations and communication skills
• Friendly, professional, and client-focused demeanor
• Strong attention to detail and barn management standards
• Good communication with Employer
Operational & Horse Care
• Experience with feeding programs and supplements
• Knowledge of equine health, lameness, and injury management
• Scheduling and coordinating farrier, vet, bodyworkers
• Record-keeping for horses, boarders, and treatments
• Blanketing, turnout schedules, and seasonal barn management
Facility Management
• Pasture and fence monitoring
• Oversight of barn cleanliness and safety standards
• Equipment and tack room organization
• Inventory management (feed, bedding, supplies)
Leadership & Admin
• Training or mentoring junior staff
• Conflict resolution with boarders when needed
Personal Attributes Often Requested
• Strong work ethic and consistency
• Long-term mindset (not seasonal-only)
• Problem-solver and proactive thinker
• Pride in maintaining a high-end facility
Schedule & Compensation
• Full-time, Monday–Friday
• Weekends off
• Starting wage: Depending on experience
About Moose Hill Ranch Equestrian Centre
Moose Hill Ranch was established in the 1800s as a cattle ranch and transitioned into a premier equestrian centre in 2016. Located approximately 15 miles west of Calgary, the facility is a first-class, state-of-the-art equestrian centre, widely regarded as one of the finest in the region.
In 2018, Moose Hill Ranch Equestrian Centre was proudly awarded Stable of the Year by the Alberta Equestrian Federation.
