Handyman/ Woman (NOC 73201)

Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
Empty trash cans and other waste containers
Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for any out of scope items
Perform minor repairs on appliances
Perform safety and security checks
Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
Work with minimal supervision
Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Willing to train for all aspects of the job
Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Ability to perform tasks required bending, stooping and kneeling and lifting up to 50lbs
Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, mechanical work, drywall, painting, and grounds keeping
Valid driver’s license
Skill in the use of a variety of skilled trade tools (including both hand and electric tools)
Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment
Knowledge of building components, water systems, gas pumps, sewer lines, water lines an asset
Ability to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of shift indoors and outdoors
Communication skills in order to communicate with co-workers and hotel guests and fully comprehend job assignments
Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Criminal record check
Reference required
Valid Drivers License
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
1-2 years of relevant experience preferred
Computer and technology knowledge
