The 2009 SL63 AMG carries the M156 -- a hand-assembled 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 producing 518 hp. It hits 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and runs the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 112 mph. Mercedes retired this engine after 2012 in favour of a turbocharged unit. For enthusiasts who know the difference, the M156 is the one to have.

58,000 km. For a 17-year-old performance vehicle, this is exceptional. The car has been garage-kept its entire life, and never driven in winter. And it shows.

Fire Opal Red (paint code 590U Unilac). Approximately 2% of 2009 SL63 AMGs left the factory in this colour -- roughly 19 cars in the entire US market for that model year, and an estimated 2 to 3 in Canada.
