From the 'Author's Note': "Canada now is the world's largest exporter of fish. The centre of our fishing effort in the North West Atlantic lies in Nova Scotia. Strategically located near incredibly rich fishing grounds famous for five centuries, Nova Scotia's fishing industry is a source of great wealth and employment. "Fishermen of Nova Scotia" is a collection of some of my previously published drawings together with many new ones. It is a picture story of our fisheries from the earliest discoveries to the present time. I have tried to show the variety of vessels, methods and gear used through the years and have illustrated variations used in different parts of the province to meet special conditions."
